During the week of May 22, NAPCA hosted its first in-person SCSEP (Senior Community Service Employment Program) National Training in four years. The training took place in NAPCA’s Seattle headquarters where NAPCA SCSEP staff and subgrantees were invited to participate.
Jo Park, NAPCA’s Chief Programs Officer, “It has been an honor for NAPCA to host this training. Not only did NAPCA SCSEP staff (from Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, Chicago, and Rural Illinois) play a major role, but partners from Chinatown Community Center (Houston), Korean Services Center of Metropolitan New York, Greater Boston Chinese Golden Age Center, Self-Help for the Elderly (California), SER Jobs for Progress (California), and ACC Senior Services Sacramento also contributed significantly to the success of this training. I am constantly in awe and inspired by their leadership and passion for serving our communities. We look forward to our continued partnerships and upcoming events this winter and in the many years ahead. NAPCA Helpline
The NAPCA Helpline is currently available with live support for residents in Los Angeles and Seattle in five different languages: English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, and Korean. All Helpline counselors are available every Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm PST. The Helpline provides resources and information on the COVID-19, voicemail option to collect stories from older adults and their caregivers, and guided meditations in 8 languages.
