Position: Technical Laboratory Researcher, Level IV

Location:  Research Triangle Park, NC

NAPCA needs a senior 55 years of age or older (PL-98-313) to work under the Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program, for the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ORD, located in Research Triangle Park, NC.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 55 years of age.

Have a BS or MS degree in chemistry, biology, toxicology, bioengineering.

Have a minimum of 5 years of experience with human primary and/or immortalized cell culture, high-content imaging, microplate reader assay optimization and screening, automated liquid handling technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

This position is in the Biomolecular and Computational Toxicology Division (BCTD), Advanced Experimental Toxicology Models Branch (AETMB). The enrollee will support ongoing research efforts including, but not limited to, primary and immortalized cell culture, immunocytochemistry, high-content imaging, microplate reader assays, and high-throughput screening with automated liquid handling technologies.

Additional duties include

  • Laboratory management of supplies, reagents, and equipment.
  • Assist with experimental design, data collection, data analysis, and QA documentation.
  • Development of Standard Operating Procedures.

Benefits:

$12.72 per hour / 30-40 hours per week.  Paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave.  Program-paid medical insurance, and enrollee-paid dental and vision plans, are available. This position is reviewed yearly and may or may not be renewed.
