NAPCA needs a U.S. citizen 55 years of age or older (PL-98-313) to work under the Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program, for the U.S. EPA in Newport, OR.

Qualifications Required: 

55 years or older U.S. citizen.

Minimum 10 years of office management or equivalent experience.

Proficient in Windows and MS products: Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Experience using Adobe Acrobat is preferred (but not required).

Familiar with office equipment including copy/fax machine and scanner.

Responsibilities and Duties: Assist EPA Branch Chief with high level administrative and technical responsibilities.

Personnel Security Processing and Badging:  Initiate background investigation process for branch staff to gain building access permit.

Budget Spreadsheets:  Post and reconcile various expenses and reports.  Provide expenditure reports.

Purchase Requisitions:  Prepare necessary documents to input in Purchase Requisition system and maintain PR spreadsheets.

Administrative & Scientific Files:  Edit documents, spreadsheets, charts and tables.  Maintain electronic bibliography databases.

Personnel Records:  Maintain personnel files for federal and non-federal staff.

Travel and Training Documentation:  Prepare information and forms for staff travel and staff training. Initiate travel voucher.

General Office Administration:  Process correspondences and office mails, backup receptionist, maintain office equipment, develop administrative processes and procedures, etc.


$12.72 per hour / 32 hours per week. (can be moved up to 40 hrs.)  Paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave.  Program-paid medical insurance and self-paid dental and vision plans are available. Program enrollment is temporary year-to-year.
