The National Asian Pacific Center on Aging is seeking candidates 55 years of age and older for the position of Executive Assistant with the U.S. EPA Senior Environmental Employment Program.

This position is available for part time telework.

Qualifications: Must be a minimum of 55 years of age (in accord with Public Law 98-313 and the Older American Workers Act), U.S. Citizen; BA/BS, Minimum 10 years Executive Office Management, Business, Communications, Organizational Development.

Duties/Responsibilities: The position will provide professional administrative support to the Office of Policy’s Associate Administrator for Policy, Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff and Senior Advisors. Involves regular interface with Chief of Staff, Senior Management and Advisors to provide high-level customer service on a variety of duties.

Responsible for monitoring office emails, gathers information about the issue(s) of concern from the inquirer, decides the appropriate action necessary for resolution (e.g., further research, forward to appropriate EPA personnel, assist with written responses, etc.)

Assists in managing staff calendars and scheduling.

Meeting and conference planning to include oversight of logistics and technology needs.

Assists with travel management duties; prepare travel itineraries, authorizations, and vouchers for senior leadership. Experience with government travel processes e.g., Concur a plus.

Prepare, review, and edit communications, ensuring compliance with agency correspondence policy as directed by the Immediate Office (IO) leadership team.

Manages FOIA requests, congressional and executive correspondence, and provides research for responses as needed.

Knowledge of environmental statutes and policies is helpful but not required; however, it is expected to be learned on the job. Since the candidate will be working with the public, strong interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to multi-task several high-priority and turn-around assignments independently.

Benefits: $18.01 per hour, 20-32 hours per week; Paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave. Program-paid medical insurance and enrollee-paid dental and vision plans available. This position is reviewed annually and may or may not be renewed. EOE
